NCRC is seeking an individual who has a desire to work in the mechanical field as a locomotive mechanic trainee.  Locomotive Mechanics are accountable for  safe work and operating practices, thorough compliance of all Federal Railroad Administration Guidelines.

Responsibilities:

• Perform scheduled inspections
• Diagnose locomotive component malfunctions
• Work and inspect air brake equipment
• Perform periodic service on locomotives
• Maintain accurate records of  repairs performed
• Comply with all guidelines set forth by the FRA
• Communication with management

Qualifications: 

• Minimum of 2 years mechanical or electrical training or experience
• Valid drivers license required.
• Must be able to successfully pass operating rules examination.
• Must be able to understand safety rules and maintenance instructions
