Colorado, Midland & Pacific (CMP)

Colorado, Midland & Pacific (CMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Rio Grande Pacific Corporation (RGPC), has entered into a commercial agreement for a portion of the Tennessee Pass Subdivision owned by Union Pacific Railroad (UP). RGPC is the principal operations and maintenance provider for DCTA Commuter Rail “A” Train between Denton and Carrolton, Texas.  RGPC is successfully working with the county transportation authority to provide on-time, safe train operations through technology solutions and maintenance planning in accordance with federal agency compliance and coordination.

CMP will begin due diligence to assess the needs and interests of local communities for commuter and passenger rail service between area community residential areas and workforce centers.

Municipal, county and state agencies are currently evaluating possibilities and transit solutions for the Tennessee Pass line service area. CMP believes helping these agencies obtain funding to establish commuter and passenger rail services, if so desired, is a value add partnership for a community which has long sought a resolution and a good fit for the service area.

RGPC’s Design, Finance, Build, Operate and Maintain (DFBOM) model seeks to deliver a transportation improvement project for this rail corridor.
